Writing Guideline

Welcome to ! We are excited that you have considered writing for us. For the purpose of standardisation and to facilitate editing and publishing, we have provided a brief style guide for all submissions to adhere to. Feel free to reach out to us should you have any queries on issues not covered within this guide.

Articles should range from 1,200 words to 1,500 words.

Longer articles may be accepted on a case-to-case basis and we strongly recommend consulting us for confirmation before writing and/or submission.

Articles should be written in English (UK style).

File Submission

Ensure your submissions are done as either Microsoft Word or Google Doc format. Use a professional font type (e.g. Arial, Times New Roman) at size 11 or 12. Headings may use a larger font size.

Do not password protect your file.

Article Sections

Title: As concise and catchy as possible to attract readers

Excerpt: Provide context and a summary for readers with the intention of attracting them to read the article.  Length of around 20 – 40 words.

Main Body: Provide a detailed breakdown of the problem and the writer’s analyses, perspectives and potential solutions.

Author blurb: Share a little about yourself and your background. Please feel free to include external links  (e.g. LinkedIn, FB) or your private addresses, if so desired. Ensure relevant affiliations and disclosures are noted here. Please limit this section to two sentences excluding your disclosures.

Instead of formal footnotes and endnotes, ensure sources – where necessary – are included by hyperlinking the relevant sections of the sentence.

Figures and Tables may be included if required.

Do provide us with an image that will accompany your article’s excerpt on our home page. Include both a  short caption and credit to the rightful source. Free stock photos can be found on platforms highlighted in this blog (https://blog.snappa.com/free-stock-photos/).
